My cousin Hailey went into lockdown at the end of her 4th-grade year. For as someone who went into lockdown at the end of my 8th-grade year, my earlier years were the time I developed social skills. Hailey has become reliant on her phone to communicate and socialize. She has come to me many times about how she feels, what she describes sounds like she is experiencing a disconnect from friends and family. I wanted to use this piece to tell a story about what Hailey went through along with many other young teens during this time period. It is time to Look Up and Look On.
